A gathering of more than 300 assembled in Hamilton Township (Mercer County), New Jersey in July 1989 for a family reunion.

July in New Jersey is typically hot and humid. The event was set up for outdoor games on the large fields and dinner at picnic tables in the pavilion. However, on this Sunday, a light rain began falling just as the first cold beers were opened. Rain intensified throughout the day, soaking everyone. Yet the games and dancing went on!
